What happens if the purchase amount has not been paid through one of the ways that Greek law requires restrictively in order to obtain the Golden Visa?

According to the established case law (Τhe Council of State 2036/2019), the investor, citizen of a third country, can at any time change the method of payment of the purchase amount  by making a correction – modification of the original contract in order to comply with the relevant legal provisions and payment methods that Greek law requires restrictively.

Afterwards, he can apply over the Aliens and Immigration Department at the Decentralised Authorities in Greece for the Golden Visa.

All specific details of the payment, including in particular the identity of the seller, buyer, and any third party payer, the number of payment accounts of the payer, his address, his official personal identification number, the payer’s ID number or the date and the place of birth, the method of payment and the relevant accounts payable by the payer and the creditor of the payee, should be noted to the contract.

In the event that the above information required by law is not stated in the contract, the investor can third-country can make the necessary corrections – modifications of the original contract in order to comply with the relevant legal provisions.
